Summer Season and ACS Swimming

Sports Update

Year 7 Sport

It was an exciting period for Year 7 sport, highlighted by several dominant performances and strong team efforts across a range of competitions.

On 3 March, the Year 7 teams delivered an outstanding round of results. Basketball teams impressed with convincing wins over Aitken College, including a dominant 48–20 victory (7A), 35–8 (7B), and 26–13 (7C). The Year 7A Girls Soccer (Blue) side was particularly impressive, recording a commanding 7–0 win over Westbourne Grammar School. In softball, the Year 7A Boys dominated Overnewton Anglican Community College with a 15–0 result. Strong performances continued across racquet and net sports, with both table tennis teams and all volleyball teams securing wins, alongside a solid tennis victory.

On 17 March, the momentum continued with a clean sweep in basketball against St Michael’s Grammar School, including two nail-biting wins (42–40 and 29–28) and two strong victories (33–16 and 20–12). The Year 7A Cricket team delivered one of the most dominant performances of the season, defeating Aitken College by a huge margin (166/1 to 56/3). The Year 7A Girls Soccer (Blue) team also impressed again with a 3–1 win over Aitken College, while the Year 7A Boys Softball team recorded a convincing 28–8 victory over Loyola College. Volleyball teams continued their strong form, with multiple wins including a confident straight-sets performance from the 7A Girls.

On 24 March, standout results included a dominant 8–1 win for the Year 7A Girls Soccer (Blue) team over St Leonard’s College, and a powerful 25–2 victory for the Year 7A Boys Softball team against Loyola College.

Intermediate Sport

It was a challenging but competitive period for the Intermediate teams, with a few standout performances and hard-fought victories across the rounds.

On 26 February, the highlight came from Table Tennis Inter C Boys, who secured a strong win over St Michael’s Grammar School (9/43 to 6/36), demonstrating control across their matches despite a tough day overall for other teams.

Following a bye round, 5 March saw a positive result in soccer, with the Inter B Girls (Blue) team producing a confident 5–2 win over St Leonard’s College, showing strong attacking play.

On 12 March, several teams delivered impressive performances. The Inter A Cricket side recorded a dominant win over St Michael’s Grammar School (149/3 to 98/5), controlling the game from start to finish. In table tennis, the Inter A Boys edged out a thrilling contest against St Michael’s Grammar School (8/39 to 7/38). Tennis also proved successful, with the Inter A Girls claiming a convincing win (10/58 to 2/27). The Inter B Girls Volleyball team capped off the round with an exciting and high-scoring 3–2 victory over St Michael’s Grammar School.

Overall, while results were mixed, the Intermediate teams showed resilience and determination, with several key wins highlighting their development and competitiveness across the competition.

Senior Sport

It was a positive period for Senior sport, with several standout performances across multiple competitions.

On 4 March, the Senior 2nd Boys Futsal side delivered a strong 6–3 win over St Michael’s Grammar School, showcasing control and composure. The Senior 1st Girls Softball team followed with an impressive 17–14 victory against St Leonard’s College in a high-scoring contest, while the Senior 3rd Girls Volleyball team edged out St Michael’s in a tightly fought match.

On 11 March, the Senior 2nd Boys Futsal team backed up their form with a thrilling 6–5 win over Westbourne Grammar School. The Senior 1st Girls Soccer team produced an outstanding attacking display to defeat Aitken College 7–4, and the Senior 1st Girls Volleyball team recorded a dominant straight-sets win over Aitken, controlling the match from start to finish.

In finals action on 18 March, the Senior 5th Girls Volleyball team secured a commanding semi-final victory over Overnewton Anglican Community College, winning in straight sets to progress. Unfortunately, our Senor 5ths Girls Volleyball team were defeated 3 sets to 1 in the Grand Final against St Leonard’s. A great achievement!

ACS Swimming

Our ACS Swimming team has been putting in a tremendous effort in the lead-up to competition, with students showing great commitment at early morning training sessions each Wednesday and Friday. Their hard work, dedication, and team spirit were evident at yesterday's ACS Swimming Carnival with some outstanding performances, highlighted by multiple podium finishes!

  • Boys Year 7 Medley Relay powered to an incredible 2nd place
    Emerson Kirby claimed 2nd in the 50m Breaststroke
    Boys Year 9 Medley Relay secured a strong 3rd place finish
  • Sophie Ezzy was a standout, achieving four 3rd place finishes across all her individual events
  • Kleo Cieplik an impressive 3rd place in backstroke
  • Alexander Hansen & Flynn Painting both placing 3rd in Breaststroke
    Antonio Inthavong also impressed with a 3rd place in the 50m Freestyle
  • A fantastic team effort with great energy, determination, and school spirit across the board. We are proud of every swimmer who competed!
