At Year 7, students begin the year with swimming and personal survival, and as the term progresses, the programme evolves to focus on skill development with an introduction to the fundamental skills in volleyball. The Year 7 students conclude the first half of the year with a focus on gymnastics. The Health programme at Year 7 has been developed to strengthen the understanding of self with a focus on character, allowing the students to explore some of the critical capabilities of the Victorian Curriculum whilst reflecting on themselves.

Within the Health & Physical Education elements of the College's core curriculum, supported by the College Gymnasium, Torquay Campus and broad community connections (including with the Essendon Rowing Club, North Melbourne Football Club and Royal Park), St 果冻APP students have access to exceptional facilities and expert coaching and are able to participate in myriad physical pursuits including swimming, gymnastics, cycling, boxing & self defence, weights & cardo training and skills development across a vast range of sports.
Through the camps program, students have access to an extensive list of outdoor activities including surfing, hiking, rock climbing and kayaking.
The Health and Physical Education Curriculum
Year 7
Year 8
The Year 8 PE programme also focuses on swimming and personal survival. In Health, year 8 students examine the influences on the dimensions of health and wellbeing as they question how to achieve optimal health.
Year 9
Year 9 Physical Education begins with a close examination of the social influences and the topic of alcohol and other drugs. The health programme expands to evaluate nutrition and particularly, the influence of social media on dietary choices. The Physical Education programme develops the core skills of striking and fielding along with net games.
Year 10
The Year 10 Health Education classes focus on global health issues and health promotion, while Sport Development strengthens the understanding of the principles and methods of training along with sport specific excellence.
VCE (Years 11 & 12)
At the VCE level, students work across exercise physiology and human anatomy, skill acquisition, biomechanics and acute physiological effects of exercise. They also exploring optimal health and wellbeing on an individual, national and global perspective.
