From Year 10
It has been a very busy week for our Year 10 students learning about Macbeth in English, Physics in Science, law-making at the Parliament in Humanities, making Shashuka in Food Technology and many more. These are just a few of the many things they have been doing over the week. Our Year 10 students’ dedication and hard work in all these areas of learning are truly commendable. As we are travelling almost halfway through the term, Year 10 students’ dedication and hard work in all areas of learning are truly commendable. Through a variety of activities, observation, and experiments, they are gaining both skill-based and knowledge-based learning experiences.
Last week, the Year 10 cohort was fortunate to experience a live performance of Macbeth as part of their ongoing study of Shakespeare's iconic tragedy. This special opportunity allowed students to deepen their understanding of the play’s key characters and thematic concerns, bringing the text to life beyond the page. Several students were even invited to participate in some of the play’s most famous scenes, including powerful soliloquies, which they will soon be performing themselves in class. The students thoroughly enjoyed the performance, with many expressing excitement and newfound appreciation for Shakespeare’s work.
Congratulations to Olivia Sutherland of 10C who finished in 3rd place in the intermediate division of ACS Public Speaking Competition, held at Aitken College. Here is her reflection on her experience.
This past Monday, I, along with two other St ¹û¶³APP students, competed in the ACS Public Speaking competition at Aitken College. I spoke about The Power of Music, and came third in my category. The other students from our school also placed, which is a great reflection on our school. I love doing public speaking and was very excited about this opportunity. Thank you to everyone who supported and encouraged me.

Year 10 Leader
On Monday, the entire school gathered in Assembly to watch the Year 11 students present their speeches for the 2026 Prefect roles. It was a very useful time for us, Year 10s, and it was the final time we would watch speeches before considering applying for the role next year in Year 11. Having the chance to watch the speeches allowed us to reflect on our time at the College, and consider our future in Year 12!

It has been an exciting start to the new term as we have been settling into our Semester 2 electives. We have learnt lots of new and interesting things in our subjects and we have been working very hard.
Audrey Fleming, 10B
Yesterday we listened to the Year 11s leadership speeches, the speeches were well-prepared and it was inspiring to hear the candidates share their stories and visions for our school. It was great to hear their ideas for encouraging student voice and involvement, and we look forward to seeing the positive impact their leadership will bring in 2026.
Ruby Rudd, 10B
On Monday we had a whole school assembly for the year 11s to present their prefect speeches. They were all so interesting seeing how each person individually introduces themselves, and I believe they have really made a positive impact on the younger year levels, inspiring them to go for the roles as they progress through school.
Millie Delaney, 10A
This week, we had the pleasure of meeting with the Japanese exchange students from Kyoto! It was a fun way to immerse ourselves in the language we learn, practising with the people who know it best. It was a great experience, sharing our Australian culture with them! This week most definitely marked a memorable point, as we made friends and had plenty of fun touring our city with the exchange buddies!
